We were lucky enough to have the wonderful Marc Gunn help us out with the first of two InstaFilk panels that we held over Dragon*con. We used Marc’s blues version of the classic “Oh, Susanna” as a base for our ode to many of our favorite shows that have been cancelled before they should have been.

After spending an hour in our track room, we had another fabulous filk to add to our collection!

I was watching Firefly and it disappeared from my eyes

Along came Dark Angel, and it was no surprise,

When ABC family cut middle man’s ties,

I patiently awaited Sarah Connor’s demise.

I find a brand new fandom, and it’s a bloody crime.

No story or plot line,

The Bachelorettes & wrestling now fill my prime time

Eureka came along, as did Seaquest

When I found I liked it, I knew it couldn’t last

I was raised on Star Trek (now known as the best),

But it, too, was cancelled just like the rest.

The Bachelorettes & wrestling now fill my prime time

TV’s now cluttered with Survivor and the Shore

And just when we think it’s over, they always shove out more

They cancelled all our favorites, TV is just a bore,

I’m turning on my Netflix to watch shows I adore.
